Welcome to Irkutsk! Your journey will start from the airport where you will be greeted by the guide who knows practically everything about the nature and attractions of the Baikal region. The guide will accompany you throughout your journey.
Boarding a comfortable private car, you will be taken to the South Coast of Lake Baikal, to Mangutai Village. Today you will take your time acclimatising and resting before the mountain challenges. Distance from Irkutsk to Mangutai is approximately 130 km, which is a 3 hour drive.
As you arrive, the hotel will welcome you into your room. Siberian residence ICE is a hotel situated right on the shore of Lake Baikal in Mangutai village. Enjoy picturesque nature and the unbelievable energy of Baikal! Two saunas and Siberian Barrel - open air hot pool - will help you truly absorb yourself in fulfilling relaxation, the way the true Siberians do it!

SIBERIAN RESIDENCE «ICE»
DAY
After breakfast we leave the hotel. Today we have a number of mountain challenges, starting with snowmobile training. The training will take 2 days.
A little geography - Khamar-Daban range and Mamai river valley are a legendary place among the lovers of extreme sports such as freeriding, ski touring and snowmobiling. The season here starts as early as November and ends in March. Even in November the thickness of snow comes to 1-2 metres, and by mid-winter reaches 5 metres.
Altitudinal variation reaches 600 m, slopes are from 1 to 3 km. Khamar-Daban boasts a rather soft climate, temperature ranging from +5 to -20 C, average wind speed 2 m/s. Avalanches are possible on the slopes which is why we pay special attention to the training portion of this stop.

We will loan you the very top mountain showmobiles! Our instructor-guide will help you through the deepest snow, teaching you how to drive a snowmobile, instructing you on avalanche safety and consulting you on your choice of gear for the ride that lies ahead.
This programme is called Beginner. The first stage is becoming familiar with the vehicle, an avalanche safety course and learning the anti-avalanche equipment. At this point you will learn speed controls and body positioning depending on the trajectory while moving on the thick snow mass. You will practice eight-shaped turns and, of course, will enjoy an astonishing photo session!
After the training we will settle in a fully serviced log cabin up in the mountains, enjoy a rest and Russian sauna.

Continuing the snowmobile training, the second stage allows you to learn stands on one leg, on two, traverse on one ski, high and low turns on horizontal surface and on a slope. You will also have avalanche safety practice.
The day ends in one more photo session, chef's dinner and a sweet steaming spa!

MAMAI COTTAGE
DAY
After breakfast you will be floating down the mountain slopes. We will take you back to civilisation, but not quite all at once! There is a long daytime ahead of us and ice crossing of the Lake on quadricycles (or snowmobiles, depending on the ice condition).
The distance is 40 km to the next site, however that is an estimate of a straight route, while we will drive along the West Coast with stops at the Circum-Baikal Railway and stroll in its beautiful tunnels.
In the evening we will reach the hotel and check in, which will be followed by seafood dinner by the estuary of River Angara.

Ice diving is an exclusive service at Baikal. Even if you have diving experience, this will be a completely new experience and unbeatable memories!
Arriving at the diving centre, you meet the instructor and receive the training before the dive. Instructors help you put on the gear. The diving depth is from 2 to 10 metres.
The diver and the instructor are tied in the same safety rope within a few feet distance. One or two more instructors stay on the surface and ensure safety throughout the dive.

Breakfast at the hotel will be followed by a departure on the hovercraft "Hivus", as we cross Baikal on ice on our way to Maloe More Strait.
On the way we stop off at Sandy bay. Here you will see the famous stilted trees - the trees' roots are exposed by the constant winds and rushes of water. You will also enjoy the picturesque cliffs and coastline. If you are lucky you will even see the still bubbles on the transparent surface of Baikal ice! After sightseeing and photo sessions we continue on our way.
On the way we stop off at Sandy bay. Here you will see the famous stilted trees - the trees' roots are exposed by the constant winds and rushes of water. You will also enjoy the picturesque cliffs and coastline. If you are lucky you will even see the still bubbles on the transparent surface of Baikal ice! After sightseeing and photo sessions we continue on our way.

In the evening we will settle on the shore of the Maloe More Strait, away from the main tourist flow and noisy hotels - just you and the lake in its ancient paternal glory! This unique place, Baikal Prestige Villa, will not only house your group: it also includes the main two-storey log cabin, the sauna complex and the staff.
Chef's signature dishes specially tailored for you will be served for breakfast and dinner. We will stay here for two nights.

After a delicious breakfast we are ready for the day tour. The Jeeps are already waiting to take us to explore Baikal's biggest island, Olkhon, crossing on the ice, encountering ice grottos and the unbelievable clarity of the ice with its unique patterns.
You will skate on the world's biggest and most beautiful ice-rink!
Our jeep tour will last the entire day. Surrounded by dusk we will return to our cosy cabin.

This day is the final day at Lake Baikal. It is time to say goodbye, board the jeeps and return to Irkutsk.
However, this will not be an ordinary transfer. The Jeep will enable us to visit the cliffs with rock paintings and reach the magnificent viewing points, for there will be a time in the journey when the asphalt road will cease and we will continue through the terrains of Tajeran Steppe.
Here we will enjoy the steppe vastness with its Martian landscape and the unusual rocks, known locally as ostantsi.The steppe is surrounded by the many wild bays of Baikal, providing you with enough of the wow-effect to last a lifetime.
In the evening you will have dinner of traditional local delicacies in a Buryat yurt. We must warn you - they are extremely filling and delicious. During the dinner you will experience the culture of native peoples of the Baikal region.
However, this will not be an ordinary transfer. The Jeep will enable us to visit the cliffs with rock paintings and reach the magnificent viewing points, for there will be a time in the journey when the asphalt road will cease and we will continue through the terrains of Tajeran Steppe.
